Robin recording the radio program, Delhi bus station in India
“Bringing the story back won’t be easy” they said, “but try and capture the feeling. Keep recording little pieces and we’ll show you how to edit them when you get back.” I felt rather self conscious at first, a strange curiosity, as I talked into a microphone. In the middle of a madly busy bus terminal in Delhi too many equally curious people were following me around. Slowly I got used to it and the patchwork of recordings grew taking on a character of their own.
Back in the UK, I spent several weeks working in the BBC studio editing and mixing until a radio program emerged capturing something of our adventure and the beautiful chaos that was India. It proved popular with a wider listening audience and the reviews were good, saying it had an authentic feel to it.
